Kris De Smedt
Kris De Smedt, born 1977, studied photography at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts (KASK) in Ghent. After his graduation, he took part in an exchange programme with the Film and TV School FAMU in Prague and took a postgraduate study at Sint-Lukas in Brussels.
In 2009, Kris started as a freelance fashion photographer and soon he was being chosen for assignments for leading magazines. He was responsible for many fashion shoots for big brands such as 3 Suisses, Pimkie, JBC, Essentiel, Lee jeans and many more.
Kris participated successfully in several European photo festivals and was a finalist in the “Descubrimientos” contest of Photo Espana (2004) and competed in the European photo festival “Mannheim/Heidelberg/Ludwigsburg" (2007). He also featured in Paul Piron's prestigious book on Belgian artists.
